Her fix is protecting muscle through adequate protein (she recommends 1.2–1.8 g per kilogram of body weight, or 20–30% of total calories), consciously managing NEAT by keeping daily steps up, and maintaining a gentle, sustainable deficit. Safe rate of loss: 0.5–1% of body weight per week, or 1–2 pounds per week maximum. No crash dieting.
